Spotlight Message

Dear Families of FCLE Bullpups,

Welcome to the webpage for Franklin County Lower Elementary School!  I am Marsha L. Webb, the principal at FCLE.  I am beginning my 33rd year at FCLE and my 20th as principal.  I am proud to be a life-long Bulldog, having graduated from our high school in 1980, Copiah-Lincoln Community College in 1982, Millsaps College in 1984, and Mississippi College in 1998.  Educating young children and seeing the smiles on their faces as they learn still brings great joy to me!
To help you stay informed about all the wonderful things happening at Franklin County Lower Elementary School, I encourage you to visit our webpage frequently, check us out on social media, and in the Franklin Advocate newspaper.  On Mondays your child’s teacher will send home a newsletter with important classroom information.  Please take a moment to read from these sources in order to stay informed.  Communication folders will be sent home daily.
Working together we form a united partnership that ensures our students receive an exceptional education. I encourage you to participate in school activities, special events, and volunteer as your schedule allows. I look forward to working with you this school year. If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at 601-384-5605 or by email at mwebb@fcsd.k12.ms.us.
Sincerely,
Marsha L. Webb

The Seven Habits at FCLE

Franklin County Lower Elementary is using The Leader in Me program as an introduction to personal leadership. All students have the capacity to lead in their own lives and affect those around them by making positive choices. The Leader in Me provides students with activities that will help them learn practical character and life skills that will lead to those positive choices. Written to appeal to their age level, students are presented with fun activities designed to get them thinking. Your child is about to embark on an exciting journey and our hope is that you will ask your child how he/she is doing along the way. The activity guide gives you an opportunity to engage, hands-on, in what your child is learning and will lead to many “teachable moments.” Having your child reteach the content to you will give both of you an opportunity to learn together! The “Parents Place” is available at www. TheLeaderInMe.org. Here you will find ideas to use at home to reinforce your child’s learning and involve the family in a fun, interactive way. Let us all strive to produce children who achieve high academic standards and grow productive leaders. Open communication between parents, students, and teachers are key in achieving this goal. Will's bench, tree, and portrait

Dedication of Buddy Bench and Japanese magnolia tree in memory and honor of Will Ferguson

Will Ferguson's memory and life was honored at FLE on May 17, 2019, by the dedication of a Buddy Bench and a tree in memorium. Will was an amazing student who touched the lives of everyone he met. He had the philosophy in life that everyone needed a friend and we should all support one another. FLE is proud to recognize this amazing young man and his life by dedicating this bench and tree to his memory. Will's classmates sang songs that were some of Will's favorites. His sister released balloons in Will's memory, also. We thank Will's family and friends for participating and allowing us to share his memory and legacy.
